Floral Implosion Techniques - Alberto Greselin
Sunday, 11 January 2015, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Alberto Greselin - 1 day workshop: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

"Floral Implosion Techniques in soft glass" - Alberto Greselin

Alberto Greselin is an electrical engineer who studied the chemical and physical properties of glass. He has developed unique implosion techniques that focus on creating miniature complex floral worlds encased in clear soft glass.

Description of course:

The course focuses on the principles of glass implosions in which a large design is miniaturized by utilizing the natural cohesiveness of glass, a property similar to the surface tension of water. Students will learn to manipulate and control the flow of glass within this 3 dimensional matrix to create complex floral compositions. We will make flower cabochons, then more complex tear-drop pendants enclosing entire bouquets and finally, round pendants enclosing complex flowers with distinct pistils, stamens, shaded streaked petals and sepals.
