Encasing Workshop
Wednesday, 21 September 2011, 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Bring your bead making to the next level with encasement! Encasement is the basis of many more advanced techniques, such as murrine making, paperweights and paperweight style beads, and can increase your palette of colors, help manage some lampwork challenges and increase the intricacy of your beads.

We will cover several methods of casing including:  spot, strip, round the world, sprial, sheet/lollipop, faux boro casing with frit, casing small and large beads, and talk about the best times to use all these methods.  We will also build cased stringer and discuss the design possibilities this opens up.

Students should take an introductory class before taking this class, or be comfortable making a basic bead and pulling stringer.
